Hey!

Confetti Ave was launched in December 2023. Written by Clare, a 38 year old mum to three boys, living in West Yorkshire.

Confetti Ave's Back Story

Like many, my love for weddings began in 2009/2010 when I was planning my own dream wedding. Wedding blogs were just beginning to make their mark in the online world, and I loved them. Even in all their newness. Before discovering blogs, it was all about wedding magazines for me. I think in the 18 months of planning i bought about 100! I remember being part of an online forum and found myself drawn into Charlotte O'Shea's wedding story. Charlotte soon after became the founder of Rock My Wedding, which is possibly the most well known UK wedding blog around.

I wanted to do something similar, who wouldn't be inspired by her? But I had my career head on and whilst planning my wedding discovered I was also expecting my first little boy. Whilst I continued to follow other people's journeys in the wedding blog world, I simply did not have the time to pursue anything. And besides, I didn't have a clue where to even start. I continued to concentrate on my career in hospitality and focus on becoming a new mum.

Over the next few years I did some wedding stationery for family and close friends but on a whole my desire to find a path somewhere in the wedding industry had completely disappeared.

By 2015 my life had changed a lot! I now found myself as a stay at home mum to three little boys under the age of 5. Whilst being at home I launched a parenting and lifestyle blog that over time grew and grew. I loved it. I had a lot to talk about and I made some amazing friends along the way. Once my confidence in blog writing grew I started to consider launching a wedding blog. After a lot of deliberation, then hard work in August 2016 Confetti Ave was born.

I couldn't comprehend what was to happen next. The launch was a huge success and within five weeks Confetti Ave was shortlisted for The Best Newcomer category at the wedding blog awards. A moment I will never, ever forget! The absolutely lovely Laura from Devine Bride won our category,  and we all had THE best night!

The next year or so was amazing. I loved my blogs and both were doing well, but I found myself having to go back into full time employment. Soon after, full time employment became full time plus full time again - anyone that has worked in hospitality will understand! Before I knew it, I had no time for Confetti Ave. The wedding industry is fast paced and I just  couldn't keep up with it. The blog got taken down and Confetti Ave was no more!

Until 2023!

Since those 'good old days' life has changed drastically. I have had some of the best moments and memories and some of the worst. Everything is, and looks different now, and this year I found myself searching for something to re-light a fire in me that just makes me smile. I've tried everything but nothing stuck. I just couldn't find that thing!

Then it dawned on me. Why not go back to something that made me so happy before? Why not explore the idea of bringing back Confetti Ave?

I researched and assessed whether there was a demand for wedding blogs anymore, and every question I asked, hit me with a big fat YES! BUT - my self doubt crept in. I'm now single, going through divorce. What place do I have to talk about weddings when after many, many happy years together my own marriage didn't work out?

Well. I gave my head a wobble! Good childminders don't have to be parents. Good funeral directors don't have to be, well - dead. I have a passion for weddings, an absolute love for them. I don't have to be married to be good at weddings. So Confetti Ave was reborn!

I re-branded. I bought back my website name. And here we are! In the run up to the launch, I have realised I should have done this a long time ago! The passion, the drive, the motivation, the ambition and most importantly the mindset has gone OFF THE SCALE! And there is just SO much more to come that I haven't revealed yet!

I really hope you love Confetti ave just as much as I do! But this blog cannot work without you! Whether you are a wedding supplier, small or huge, it doesn't matter, we want to collaborate. A bride to be, wanting to share her planning journey. A recent bride that wants to show off the best day of her life. Or you just want to join the ride. WE want YOU! There are opportunities for all of you. Get in touch!
