9 fun ways to propose to your bridal party
Congratulations! You can finally shout the words ‘I AM GETTING MARRIED!’ Your other half has just popped the question The most important question he/she has ever had to ask but that isn’t where the important questions end. More often than not choosing your bridal party is the first decision you make as an engaged couple. Before picking venues, deciding on colour schemes, sometimes even the date! But just how do you ask your besties to be part of the biggest day of your life? A simple phone call definitely isn’t on trend anymore, so we are here to help you with 10 fun ways to propose to your bridal party.
Say it With Food
Where’s all my foodies at?! Who doesn’t love a little sweet surprise or a cleverly designed charcuterie board? Maybe some little personalised cookies, cupcakes or even Macarons. If your wedding party are massive foodies, consider asking that all important question by filling their tummies at the same time!

Bridesmaid Boxes
A fairly common choice over the past few years. The beauty of making your own Bridesmaid boxes is that you can personalise it to tailor your wedding aesthetic, the bridesmaid themselves but it can also double up to include things you would be buying for them at a later date anyway. Insert items such as wedding jewellery or hair pieces you want them to wear on the big day. Add in their Bridesmaid dressing gown or pyjamas for those beautiful getting ready shots. Add in some sweet treats, a mini bottle of fizz and a personalised note or letter and you’re good to go. Of course you can also buy these pre-made at great prices if you do a little research online.

Suit Up Boxes
Just like a Bridesmaid box, but not quite so common. Whilst we love a pretty and delicate bridesmaid box, we absolutely adore the masculine, clean, modern look of a ‘suit up’ box! I don’t know what it is about the idea of a bow tie, cuff links, a little bottle of something and a cigar that looks just SO sexy and sophisticated! Just like the bridesmaid box, these can be personalised to suit each of your groomsmen, and let's not even get started on how cute some of the little groomsmen proposal ideas are.

Message on a Balloon
Gone are the days where balloons were considered the cheaper and tackier decor of choice in any kind of event. There are just SO many options when it comes to using balloons these days, and we are here for it! Why not POP that question (see what we did there?!) using a beautiful balloon gift. You could even use the balloon to hint at your chosen colour scheme if you have got that far!

Wooden Business Cards
Whilst doing a little research for this post we came across this amazing idea! Possibly more suited towards the groomsmen these wooden business cards are just *chefs kiss*! There’s nothing more for us to say here!

Write Vows
Do you love to write? Are you one of those people that can effortlessly put into words how you feel about something or someone? Then why not consider writing personalised vows for each of your wedding party. It could be soft, emotive and meaningful, or it could be funny and lighthearted such as ‘ I promise to sack off the hubby once a month for girls night’. Or ‘I vow to accept ‘It’s Fine’ without second guessing if that is what she really means every now and again when we fancy a round of golf’. The personal touch you put into these vows will be remembered and kept forever.
Host a Boys/Girls Night In
Whether you choose to do this all together or keep the bridesmaids and groomsmen nights separate will all depend on the dynamics of your friendship group. But whichever you choose the same rules apply! Host a dinner party, have a movie night where Bridesmaids or The Hangover are the feature films (don’t let them get any ideas though!). Put on an afternoon tea, a silent disco, a BBQ or just a good old catch up and drinks with those you hold closest to your heart! It takes away the cost of going out, but you can still celebrate in style, whether you choose to dress to the nines or chill in your pyjamas!
Additional Idea: Why not invite your besties to a colour party? These are bang on trend at the moment but add a little wedding twist. Ask them to pick a colour THEY think you will pick for your colour scheme and they need to provide food and drink of that colour. They may have to discuss this between themselves prior to the event to make sure everyone doesn’t turn up with pink gin, swashee’s, and prawn cocktail crisps! Obviously your colour is going to be White!
Keep it Personal
Sometimes a one size fits all gift doesn’t work for your friendship group. Whilst one of your bridal crew could be a stay at home kinda girl/boy that loves nothing more than a good book and a cuppa, another may be a big party goer and always up for a drink. And more than likely there will be someone in your bridal party that is well under the age of partying anywhere other than build-a-bear. Make each gift personal and meaningful to your relationship as friends and/or family. There are so many options to suit every possible budget. A little scroll through Pinterest will have your head filled with ideas of how to ask each individual in a way that they will love and cherish forever.
A Simple Card
We all know what pressures there are these days to be extravagant, stylish, go ‘all out’ and make everything Insta worthy! But wedding planning is stressful enough at times. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself before you’ve even started getting into the finer details of the wedding planning process. Sometimes simplicity is best. A simple card, with some heartfelt words can mean just as much to your loved ones as an over the top gesture. There are some amazing ones available online. We love these ones!
