Groomsmen Roles & Responsibilities On The Big Day
When it comes to your bridal party, there is so much focus on the roles and responsibilities for your bridesmaids and maid of honour. But what about your groomsmen? What are they responsible for? What are their roles on your wedding day? We have all the details for you!

General Responsibilities
The most common roles of your Groomsmen is the Best Man and the Ushers. But if you have a large group of friends, you may want to add additional groomsmen to simply include them into your special day! And of course let's not forget the father of the groom, and father of the bride.
No matter what actual role your groomsmen are playing in your wedding day, there are some general responsibilities that apply to all of them!

Pre Wedding
- Arrange the Stag Do
- Attend any pre-wedding events such as Engagement Party, Stag Do, Rehearsal Dinner
- Assist in venue set up where needed
- Assist the Groom in wedding attire decisions and attend any suit fittings
- Collect suits prior to the wedding day
- Assist in the logistics of planning the getting ready preparations and arrival time

Wedding Morning
- Be a support to the Groom - The wedding morning is a big one for them too!
- Assist the Groom getting ready and make sure all Groomsmen look polished & cohesive
- Carry a small Emergency Kit that includes some paracetamol, tissues, stain remover & safety pins
- Pick up on any issues that need addressing, just like the Bride, the Groom needs to have someone that can deal with any issues calmly and efficiently
- Ensure everyone arrives at the ceremony venue on time

Before & During the Ceremony
- Make sure the rings are looked after safely
- Assist guests to their seats
- Support the Groom with any pre ceremony meetings he may need to have (civil ceremony)
- Assist the photographer with getting some great groomsmen shots
- Have any readings required ready and well rehearsed
- Be mindful of the wedding timeline
- Distribute any order of ceremony/day or wedding newspapers to guests where applicable
- Ensure guests are following any ceremony seating plans
- Support and help look after any mini humans involved in the ceremony

After the Ceremony & Wedding Reception
- Have speeches well prepared and rehearsed if applicable to their role/bride & grooms requests
- Assist guests with the seating plan
- Have an enthusiastic and organised approach to help the photographer with group shots
- Assist any wedding hosts or master of ceremonies with coordinating guests
- Get the party started!
- Be leaders on the dancefloor
- Be on hand for any guest assistance
- Leave the Bridesmaids alone!!!

After The Wedding
- Assist guests to leave timely and adhere to any venue noise rules
- Return any suit rental items
- Transport the wedding gifts and cards to where they need to go
- Attend any post wedding events and gatherings
